Canon Precentor of Worcester Cathedral: Reverend Michael William Brierley

The Queen has approved nomination of Reverend Michael William Brierley to be appointed to the Canonry in the Cathedral Church of Worcester.

The Queen has approved the nomination of the Reverend Michael William Brierley, MA, PhD, Priest-in-Charge of Tavistock and Gulworthy in the Diocese of Exeter, to be appointed to the Canonry in the Cathedral Church of Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary, Worcester, in succession to the Reverend Canon David John Stanton, MTheol, MA, FSAScot, FRSA on his resignation.

Reverend Michael William Brierley

The Reverend Michael Brierley (aged 40) was educated at Cambridge University and then Ripon College Cuddesdon. He served his curacy at Marnhull and at Okeford, both in the diocese of Salisbury, from 1998 to 2001. He was Bishop’s Domestic Chaplain in the diocese of Oxford from 2001 to 2007. Since 2007 he has been Priest-in-Charge of Tavistock and Gulworthy in the diocese of Exeter.

His recreations include walking and cricket.
