On 24 June this year Venezuela celebrated the 193rd anniversary of the Battle of Carabobo, which marked a definitive turn in Venezuela’s Independence process in 1821.

Embassy officials took part in the commemorative act celebrating all those who lost their life in this heroic deed. They also recalled the historic friendship between the UK and Venezuela, represented by the essential role played by the British Legion during the Battle of Carabobo, as well as other defining moments in Venezuela’s fight for Independence.
