Chain Bar to be reduced to one lane for emergency water repairs
Drivers are being advised that Chain Bar roundabout at junction 26 of the M62 near Bradford will be reduced to a single lane to allow for emergency repairs to a water main.
Contractors for Yorkshire Water will be carrying out essential repairs to the water main which supplies water to 9,000 people in the surrounding area, from 8pm on Friday 24 June 2016 until 6am on Tuesday 28 June 2016.
The roundabout and all approaches will be reduced to a single lane so that work can be carried out safely.
Highways England Project Manager Esref Ulas said:
We understand that this work is going to cause some significant congestion at this busy junction in particular on Monday but it is essential Yorkshire Water fixes the water main to avoid any significant damage to the road surface.
We would advise drivers to avoid the area if they can or allow extra time for their journeys while this work is carried out. We would like to thank drivers for their ongoing patience.
Den Tansey of Yorkshire Water said:
