Change of Her Majesty's Ambassador to Norway
Ms Sarah Gillett has been appointed Her Majesty's Ambassador to Norway.
Ms Sarah Gillett CMG CVO has been appointed Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Norway in succession to Ms Jane Owen, who will be transferring to another Diplomatic Service appointment. Ms Gillett will take up her appointment during July 2014.
Ms Gillett joined the FCO in 1976 and has served overseas in the United States of America, France, Brazil, Canada, and most recently as Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
On her appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Norway, Ms Gillett has said:
Norway is a great neighbour and partner of the United Kingdom. I feel very privileged to have the opportunity to serve such an important relationship. Our shared interests are extensive, and I look forward to ensuring that they continue to be well looked after.
