Change of Her Majesty's Ambassador to the Slovak Republic

Mr Andrew Garth has been appointed Her Majesty's Ambassador to the Slovak Republic.

Mr Andrew Garth has been appointed Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Slovak Republic and will take up his appointment during October 2014.

Mr Garth joined the FCO in 1988 and has held several appointments predominately in Europe and Asia including Poland, Romania, Thailand and Taiwan. He led the EU Enlargement and Pre-accession Team at the FCO and assisted British businesses both in the UK and Overseas. Most recently, he worked at UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) supporting efforts to encourage more firms into exporting and increase UK business success overseas.

On his appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Slovakia, Mr Garth has said:

It is an honour and privilege to be appointed as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Slovak Republic. I look forward to working with a valued EU partner, strengthening our political and economic links still further and exploring this beautiful country.
