Change of name for Dounreay Parent Body Organisation
Dounreay’s parent body organisation has changed its name from the Babcock Dounreay Partnership to the Cavendish Dounreay Partnership.
The move follows the decision of Babcock International Group, which has a 50 per cent stake in the parent body organisation, to rebrand its civil nuclear business unit as Cavendish Nuclear.
The other partners in the consortium, CH2MHILL and URS, as well as the rest of Babcock International Group, are unaffected by the change.
DSRL Managing Director Mark Rouse, a secondee from Cavendish Nuclear, said:
This is a change in name only, all of the experience and values of our parent companies remain the same.
This does not in any way change our programme, direction or progress to make Dounreay the most successful nuclear site closure project in Europe.
The partnership won the contract from the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority last year to complete the decommissioning of the site by 2022-25, shaving 14 years and £1 billion off previous forecasts.
