United Kingdom Visas and Immigration, which has the responsibility for issuing UK visas overseas, is introducing a change to its network as part of a broader change programme. This change will have no impact on the cost of applying for visas, with the current Visa Application Centres continuing to take in applications.

From January 26th 2015, all applications for visas (including settlement applications) for the United Kingdom made in Uruguay will be decided by UK Visas and Immigration in Bogota. Applications will be sent to UKVI Bogota for processing.

These changes will not affect the UKVI customer service standards:

UK Visas and Immigration aims to complete 90 per cent of visit visa applications within 15 days and for settlement categories, aims to complete 95 per cent of applications in not more than 12 weeks. Visa applicants in Uruguay should continue to submit their applications at the Visa Application Centre (VAC) operated by our commercial partner VFS in Buenos Aires.
