Chevening alumni in Jamaica and The Bahamas
The high commission in Kingston has spent the last few months connecting with our chevening scholars in Jamaica and Bahamas.
As part of our plans to engage with Chevening Alumni in Jamaica and the Bahamas ,the high commission has spent the last few months connecting with the scholars.
High Commissioner Howard Drake recently held events in both Jamaica and Bahamas for Chevening alumni, some from as far back as the 1980’s. The aim was to provide an opportunity for scholars to get acquainted with each other, and as a preliminary step towards the launch of an alumni associations in both Jamaica and The Bahamas. High Commissioner Drake,encouraged the scholars to stay connected with the 41,000 strong prestigious Chevening alumni network across the globe.
The Chevening programme has been in existence since 1983. Over 150 Jamaicans and 85 Bahamians have received scholarships. Four Chevening Scholars from Jamaica and the Bahamas are currently studying in the UK.
