The Chevening Scholarships programme is open to applications from Korean citizens until 3 November - for the 2016-2017 academic year.
More than 2,000 scholars will be selected from 160 countries and territories. Selected scholars will study at UK universities in September or October of next year. Chevening Scholarships cover the cost of one year of post-graduate study in the UK, including tuition fees, a monthly stipend and a round-trip airfare.
The Chevening programme began in 1983. This programme is supported by the UK government and partner organisations around the world. The scholarships are awarded to future leaders who have leadership potential.
Thus far, approximately 1,100 Koreans have benefited from the scholarships. After studying in the United Kingdom, scholars have returned to Korea as experts and leaders in their chosen fields. North Korean settlers in South Korea are also invited apply.
Chevening alumni number about 44,000 worldwide and comprise an influential and highly regarded global network.
