Church Commissioner appointment: Duncan Owen

Duncan Owen to be appointed a Church Commissioner.

The Queen has approved that Duncan Owen BSc(Hons), be appointed a Church Commissioner for three years effective from 1 January 2017 in succession to the John Michael Wythe, BSc, FRICS, who resigns on 31 December 2016.

Background

Biography

Duncan Owen is currently global Head of Real Estate at Schroders and before that he was Head of Real Estate Funds. He is Chair of Schroders Real Estate Investment Committee and a member of the Group Investment Committee.

From 2006 to 2012 he was CEO of Invista REIM having led its creation as a newly formed property fund management business. From 2001 to 2003 he was a co-founder of Gatehouse Investment Management and from 1999 to 2001 he was national director at La Salle Investment Management. He started his career at James Lang Wootton in 1990 as an equity partner in fund management, becoming property manager in 1988.
