Civil news: updated contract schedules available
New civil contract schedules beginning 1 September 2020 are now available to view in the Contracted Work and Administration (CWA) system.
New civil contract schedules are available for law firms and other legal aid providers to view ahead of their commencement on 1 September 2020.
These new schedules will run for 12 months to 31 August 2021.
Civil providers are strongly urged to view and check their latest schedule(s) before the start date of September.
These replace the current schedules under the 2018 Standard Civil Contract which will end on 31 August 2020.
Where to find new schedules
Civil schedules, including those for Immigration Removal Centre work, can now be viewed in Contracted Work and Administration (CWA).
Housing Possession Court Duty Scheme (HPCDS) schedules are not included in CWA. HPCDS schedules will be issued separately to providers that accept the contract extension we have offered.
Matter start allocations
For most providers, the volume of matter starts included on their new schedule will remain the same as on their current schedule.
However, providers that have self-granted additional matter starts previously will receive an increased allocation. Providers requiring more matter starts during the coming schedule period will need to follow the supplementary matter starts process detailed at 1.21 – 1.24 of the 2018 Standard Civil Contract Specification.
Queries
Any provider with a query regarding the content of their new schedule should contact their designated Legal Aid Agency Contract Manager in the first instance.
