Civil news: tender for additional 2018 standard civil contracts
We are opening a tender on 7 March 2023 for additional work under the 2018 Standard Civil Contract ending on 31 August 2024.

New providers are being invited to carry out work under the terms of the 2018 Standard Civil Contract.
The contracts will run for one year from 1 September 2023 to 31 August 2024.
This tender is for providers who fall into one of these categories:
- new entrants seeking to deliver face to face civil legal aid services
- existing providers who hold a 2018 contract and are seeking to deliver face to face civil legal aid services in additional categories of law
- existing providers holding a 2018 contract who are seeking to deliver face to face civil legal aid services from additional offices/procurement areas
The tender is open for the following categories of law:
- family
- housing, debt and welfare benefits
- immigration and asylum, including work at immigration removal centres (IRCs)
- mental health
- community care
- claims against public authorities
- clinical negligence
- public law
- family mediation
- education
- discrimination
Existing providers
Providers currently holding a 2018 Standard Civil Contract who are not seeking additional contract work do not need to complete a tender application.
However, providers do need to respond accepting the email extension offer we sent on 2 March. This will allow you to continue delivering services from 1 September 2023 to 31 August 2024.
