Civil news: training for new bolt-on fee arrangements
Training for civil legal aid reform implemented on 31 July 2014.
Remember to use our online training package to help you understand the changes which have been made to the basis of the bundle bolt-on fee in civil legal aid cases.
The changes mean that payments will now be based on the “advocates” bundle rather than the court bundle.
The LAA will continue to be responsible for determining the correct bundle bolt-on fee.
Advocates Attendance Form
The payment we make will be determined by reference to the Advocates Attendance Form and this is available for download on the HMCTS website.
HMCTS Form Finder – enter ‘Advocates Attendance Form’ into the ‘form/leaflet title’ box.
Be ready to justify documentation
We would also like to clarify that the judge or person before whom a case is heard may request a written explanation as to why documents have been included in the advocate’s bundle. The need to provide an explanation for documents included in the paginated index applies to those documents which do not fall within the Family Procedure Rules 2010 - see paragraphs 4.2 and 4.3.
