Civil Service Quarterly out now

The fifth edition of Civil Service Quarterly has now been published.

Front cover of Civil Service Quarterly

Resource nationalism, holding schools accountable and reforming child maintenance.

Civil Service Quarterly is an e-magazine written by civil servants for civil servants. The aim is to open our work up to greater collaboration and challenge, and invite discussion on the topics presented.

In this edition our lead article is about DFID’s first Girl Summit in partnership with UNICEF, and how the organisers aim to mobilise efforts to end female genital mutilation and forced marriage in a generation.

Other articles cover a wide range of topics including measuring school success, resource nationalism and the carrier bag charge. We also hear from a guest author, Civil Service Commissioner, Sir David Normington GCB, who reviews the ‘Blunders of Our Governments’ by Anthony King and Ivor Crewe, praising its “lessons for all politicians and civil servants”.

Read the e-magazine and find out more in Sir Jeremy Heywood’s guest blog.
