Civil/crime news: OJEU notice about telephone advice services

Prior information notice about tender intentions published in Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU).

A prior information notice about the procurement of services for Police Station Telephone Advice (PSTA) has been published in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) – see below.

The Legal Aid Agency (LAA) is offering applicant organisations the opportunity to bid for telephone advice work from 1 June 2016 for clients detained in police custody under these contracts:

  • Crime Defence Direct (CDD) contract
  • Police Station Immigration Telephone Advice Service (PSITAS) contract

3 options

It is the LAA’s intention that applicant organisations will have the opportunity to select one of three options when bidding for the delivery of services:

  1. PSITAS only
  2. CDD only
  3. Both CDD and PSITAS under one consolidated Police Station Telephone Advice contract

The LAA will use a “lot” based approach. Successful bids will be the ones offering the most economically advantageous outcome. This will be based on criteria set out in the procurement documentation. This is confirmed in the prior information notice.
