Commonwealth Scholarships Award Presentation

First Singapore Commonwealth Scholarships in Innovation were presented to 2 outstanding recipients

Commonwealth Scholarships Award Presentation

The very first Singapore Commonwealth Scholarship in Innovation and Singapore Commonwealth Fellowship in Innovation were presented on 22 August 2017. The Singapore Commonwealth Scholarships in Innovation are to help Singaporeans study Masters level courses in the UK in innovation subjects, whilst the Fellowships are to assist Singaporeans to undertake an innovative collaboration with a UK business or institution.

The first Singapore Commonwealth Scholar in Innovation is Mr Joshua Cheong, who will be studying for an MPhil in Technology Policy at Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge. The first Singapore Commonwealth Fellow in Innovation is Dr Khoo Hsien Hui and for her Fellowship collaboration she aims to create a new supply chains model to assist businesses, in collaboration with the Advanced Resource Efficiency Centre (AREC) at the University of Sheffield.

The awards were presented by The Rt Hon Sajid Javid MP, the UK’s Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government.

The Singapore Commonwealth Scholarship in Innovation and Singapore Commonwealth Fellowship in Innovation are schemes of The Royal Commonwealth Society of Singapore.
