COVID-19: 2020 Clinical Excellence Awards competition update
An update on the 2020 competition for new and renewed national Clinical Excellence Awards.
The Advisory Committee on Clinical Excellence Awards (ACCEA) is aware of the increasing impact of coronavirus (COVID-19) on all NHS staff.
Although the 2020 national Clinical Excellence Awards competition remains open, we do not expect clinicians to prepare applications, nor employers to sign them off at the expense of clinical priorities.
We are in constant contact with NHS staff and stakeholder organisations. We continue to evaluate the number of applications received and the feasibility of the sign-off and scoring exercises.
Based on this ongoing assessment, we will implement our contingency and mitigation plans for new applications and for awards that are due to expire in April 2021.
