Cyber and Information Security Showcase held in Vienna

UK Trade and Investment hosted the first Central and Eastern European Cyber and Information Security Showcase at the British Embassy Vienna.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

The Vienna Cyber and Information Security Showcase ran from 13 February to 14 February 2013. It provided attendees with a unique insight into applications designed to avert the threats from ‘the fifth realm of defence’ - after land, water, air and space.

Among the participants were 18 British companies. They delivered cutting edge cyber security solutions to an audience of 170 government and corporate officials from 121 different organisations and over ten Central and Eastern European countries. Delegates and exhibitors were not only able to make promising contacts with industry professionals but were also able to discuss concepts, strategies and future trends in cyber security.

The products and services offered focused mainly on the high system integrity standards of military, government and corporate organisations. They provided strategies and utility solutions to implement sector standards by a variety of means; ranging from securing multilevel networks or portable devices, to digital forensics.

The showcase was held one week after the annual Munich Security Conference. At that conference, cyber security was branded as the most intricate security challenge of our time.
