Deputy Prime Minister sends his Rosh Hashanah greetings

In a video message wishing the Jewish community a happy New Year, the Deputy Prime Minister praises the Jewish value of “tikkun olam”.

Nick Clegg’s Rosh Hashanah message

Mr Clegg said:

For all of us who want to understand how we can help build strong communities, there is so much we can learn from from the Jewish community here in the United Kingdom.

He said the Jewish community was one ”whose achievements have made such a significant contribution to all aspects of British economic, cultural and social life.”

The Deputy Prime Minister finished by wishing the Jewish Community in the UK and across the world a “Happy and sweet New Year” and an “Easy fast” in Hebrew.
