Electronic signs and road markings on A5 in Shropshire
The Highways Agency will be carrying out overnight work to install new signage and road markings on the A5 at the Queen’s Head junction near Oswestry, from Thursday 12 June.
The work involves installing a new electronic sign to warn southbound vehicles of the approaching junction, as well as standard road signs, safety barriers and new road markings.
The closures will affect a 1/3 mile section of the A5 at its junction with the B5009 near to the entrance to Oswestry Golf Club, for four nights, between 8pm and 7am.
Local access will be available at the Queen’s Head junction at times, if construction work allows for this. When the junction is closed, traffic will be diverted along the A458 and A483.
Highways Agency Project Sponsor, Jess Kenny, said:
To keep disruption to a minimum, we are carrying out the work overnight, but we advise road users to allow extra time for journeys.
