Embassy welcomes returning Guatemalan Chevening scholars
After the successful completion of their UK Chevening Scholarships and return to Guatemala, British Ambassador Carolyn Davidson welcomed the newest group of alumni to her Residence.
The four Guatemalan scholars studied a diverse range of subjects including – communications, water management, and public policies. The returning scholars are:
- Maria de los Angeles Chang – Westminster University
- Gabriela Guzman – Exeter University
- Carmen Alvarado – Swansea University
- Rudy Herrera – University College of London
On presenting their certificates, Ambassador Carolyn Davidson said:
Congratulations on your achievements. I’m sure you will contribute to the development of Guatemala, and as part of the Alumni Association, to spread the word about Chevening for other Guatemalans to follow in your footsteps.
The returning scholars were invited to join the active Guatemala Chevening Alumni Association to share knowledge and experiences gained during their stay in the UK and use their networks to contribute to the country’s prosperity.
