England rugby comes to Uruguay
The British Embassy in Uruguay were delighted to host the players at the ‘Third Half’ event at the Ambassador’s Residence.
The England rugby team, in their first ever visit to Uruguay, played a game against Sudamerica XV on 4 June, a team made up of players from Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and Brazil.
Following the match, the Embassy hosted the ‘Third Half’ at the Residence. Both teams came along and mingled with about 200 guests, who were delighted to get the chance to chat with the teams and have their shirts signed.
English Captain Tom Wood got the biggest cheer of the evening when he began his speech impressively in Spanish.
