The European Commission has provided a favourable view on EDF’s investment plans for Hinkley Point C under Article 41 of the European Atomic Energy Community (Euratom) Treaty concluding that it “fulfils the objectives of the Euratom Treaty and contributes to develop a sustainable national energy mix.”
The UK Government welcomes this positive development which represents a confident step forward for EDF’s plans to build a new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point. For further information please see the EDF: European Commission gives Hinkley Point C the all-clear press release.
