The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority publishes its responses on the options for managing the remainder of its exotic fuels at Dounreay.
Exotic fuels – NDA publishes feedback on options 24/05/2012 The NDA has published its response to eight organisations and five individuals who commented on the options for managing the remainder of its “exotic” fuels at Dounreay.
NDA decided last year to remove its breeder material from the site and in February set out options for other nuclear fuel it inherited at Dounreay from the UK Atomic Energy Authority.
It received a total of 13 responses to the options set out in the paper.
The responses, together with the view of the NDA, have now been published. A decision on the preferred option is expected later this year.
