FCO Minister condemns attack at Sahafi hotel in Mogadishu
Minister for Africa James Duddridge has condemned the callous attack on the Sahafi hotel in Mogadishu by al Shabaab.
Speaking today Mr Duddridge said:
I condemn the attack on the Sahafi Hotel in Mogadishu by al Shabaab which has resulted in the death and injury of innocent civilians. My thoughts are with the family and friends of all those affected. This attack is yet another example of al Shabaab’s willingness to target Somali civilians in pursuit of its extremist agenda.
I commend the Somali security forces for their response and the continued commitment of the Somali Government in its efforts to bring peace and stability to the country. The UK stands with Somalia as it confronts these challenges.
