FCO Minister condemns attack in Afghanistan

Minister for Afghanistan Tobias Ellwood calls for end to violence in Afghanistan following attack in Paghman district

This was published under the 2015 to 2016 Cameron Conservative government

Mr Ellwood said:

I strongly condemn this morning’s horrific attack on Afghan National Police cadets and civilians in Kabul province, for which the Taliban have claimed responsibility. Today’s callous attack, like the attack on the Nepalese security contractors in Kabul on 20 June, demonstrated a complete disregard for human life. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of all those killed and injured.

The UK stands resolute in our long-term commitment to the Afghan people. We urge the Taliban to stop its senseless killing and come to the peace table.
