Foreign Secretary calls Tunisian Foreign Minister
Foreign Secretary William Hague encouraged Tunisian Foreign Minister to meet the aspirations of the Tunisian people.
Speaking today, Foreign Secretary, William Hague, said:
“I continue to follow events in Tunisia closely. I spoke to Foreign Minister, Kemal Morjane, yesterday and urged the interim government to do all it can to reach out to those Tunisians who are still fearful that they have not yet seen the fundamental political changes they have demanded. I also urged the interim government to implement rapidly the wider commitments it has made and stressed that the UK stands ready, with the EU, to support Tunisia as it moves to hold free and fair elections.”
