Foreign Secretary describes bomb attacks in Nigeria as "cowardly and contemptible"
Foreign Secretary William Hague has made a statement following bombings in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria.
Speaking after the bombings, which have killed at least eight people, the Foreign Secretary said:
“I was deeply shocked to hear of the attacks in Abuja today. Targeting Nigerians celebrating their 50th Anniversary of independence is cowardly and contemptible. My thoughts are with those injured and the families of those who have lost their lives. The United Kingdom will do all it can to help our Nigerian partners to bring those responsible to justice.”
