Foreign Secretary postpones visit to Stockholm
British Foreign Secretary William Hague and Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt have agreed to postpone the Foreign Secretary’s forthcoming visit to Sweden due to the recall of Parliament
Earlier today, the Foreign Secretary and Carl Bildt agreed that due to recent developments surrounding the crisis in Syria and the recall of the UK Parliament on Thursday that they should postpone the Foreign Secretary’s visit to Sweden, planned for the end of this week.
The Foreign Secretary has spoken to Carl Bildt and has thanked him for all the work that has gone in to organising a thoughtful and engaging programme.
The Foreign Secretary planned to meet with Carl Bildt, and Ministers Gunilla Carlsson and Karin Enström, to discuss topics such as Europe’s role in a global power shift and women, peace and security issues. Foreign Minister Hague was also scheduled to speak at the Institute for International Affairs (Utrikespolitiska Institutet) and to Swedish Ambassadors at the MFA Leadership Conference.
The Foreign Secretary and Carl Bildt agreed to rearrange the visit to Sweden soon.
