Foreign Secretary visit to Copenhagen
Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond visited Copenhagen on 18 September
The Foreign Secretary met with Danish Foreign Minister Martin Lidegaard. The two Ministers held constructive talks on EU reform, the situation in Iraq and Syria, and the Ebola crisis.
The Foreign Secretary also met with the Danish Parliament’s European Affairs Committee. Afterwards, he spoke at a panel debate on democratic accountability in the EU at the Danish Parliament (Borgen).
The Foreign Secretary later met with the new Danish Minister for Economic Affairs and the Interior Morten Østergaard during which they held discussions on competitiveness, trade and single market issues in the EU.
Finally the Foreign Secretary participated in a round table discussion with top Danish business representatives on Global Competitiveness at the Danish Confederation of Industry (DI).
