Foreign Secretary's call with Luigi Di Maio, 12 November 2020
Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab spoke to Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio today to discuss the UK and Italy’s partnerships in 2021.

The Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab spoke to Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio today to discuss the UK and Italy’s partnerships in 2021.
On our overlapping G7 and G20 presidencies, the Foreign Secretary and Minister Di Maio recognised their shared responsibility to support a clean, green and sustainable recovery from COVID-19, which they agreed to work together on.
On COP26 – which the UK will host in partnership with Italy next year – the two ministers discussed the importance of working together to tackle climate change. They both looked forward to seeing commitments from G7 and G20 members at the Climate Ambition Summit on 12 December.
The Foreign Secretary and Minister Di Maio also welcomed the recent announcement of a ceasefire in Libya. They reiterated their support for the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum, in which the Libyan people will agree on the future institutional framework of the country.
