Foreign Secretary’s Chanukah message

Foreign Secretary sends warmest wishes to Jewish communities in UK and around the world as they celebrate Chanukah.

Speaking today William Hague said:

I would like to send my warmest wishes to the Jewish communities in the UK and around the world as they celebrate Chanukah, the Festival of Lights.

It is a holiday that encourages us to work towards a more peaceful future, and that reminds us that there can be light even in the darkest moments. We join the Jewish faith in hoping and striving for peace, particularly in the Middle East.

So, as Chanukah begins, I’d like to wish you all a very happy and peaceful holiday. Chanukah sameach.
