Founder of Don Mcmath foundation receives medal for services
Anne Mcmath founded Gambian school providing free education to over 340 Gambian children
The British Embassy Banjul has sent its congratulations to Mrs Anne McMath, founder of the ‘Don McMath Foundation School’ in The Gambia who has been included in the New Years Honours list by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.
Mrs McMath has been awarded a BEM medal for ‘services to education in The Gambia’.
The Don McMath Foundation School was opened in January 2003 and provides free education for children from the poorest Gambian families living within a 3-mile radius of the school. The school currently provides free education to over 340 students.
The school is funded entirely through sponsorship and fundraising from the UK. More information on the school can be found at - Donmcmath
