GCA publishes 2022-23 annual report
Read about the GCA's latest annual report.
The GCA has published its annual report and accounts for the financial year 2022-23.
The report covers a challenging period for the groceries sector during which continued inflationary pressure tested the relationships between Retailers and suppliers and likely increased delays and errors in implementing price rises. The report also covers the GCA’s success in improving the treatment of suppliers by Retailers since its establishment a decade ago.
The report highlights some of the GCA’s work during 2022-23, including:
- Retailers’ published commitment to ensuring that suppliers do not face negative consequences as a result of raising issues with their business
- The 2023 groceries sector survey, which showed improved overall compliance despite tough trading conditions
- Continued work with Amazon following its designation to ensure compliance with the Groceries Supply Code of Practice
The annual report also fulfils the GCA’s statutory reporting requirements and summarises performance against its strategic objectives, in addition to providing an update on its financial position.
