Golf is GREAT: Ambassador’s Cup 2013 a complete success!
The British Embassy Quito hosted the 5th edition of its “Ambassador´s Cup” golf tournament in October. It was a GREAT success!

The British Embassy last month organised the “Ambassador´s Cup 2013” golf tournament. The event, which is in its fifth year, took place on Friday October 4th at the Quito Tennis y Golf Club. Bringing together dozens of British and Ecuadorian companies, the tournament celebrated one of Britain´s oldest and best-loved sports.

We are delighted to announce that for the first time, the Ambassador’s Cup supported the work of the Antonio Valencia Foundation. Antonio Valencia, who currently plays football for Manchester United, is perhaps one of Ecuador´s best known sportsmen. Through sport, and football in particular, the Antonio Valencia foundation helps to give young, disadvantaged children in Ecuador better opportunities by helping them integrate into the societies they live in. Through a raffle (the first prize of which was a trip to the UK to meet Antonio Valencia), a total of $5,000 was raised for the foundation.
