Government appoints a new economist member to STRB
Kenneth Clark of the University of Manchester has been appointed as the new economist member to the School Teachers’ Review Body (STRB).
Kenneth Clark of the University of Manchester has been appointed as the economist member to the STRB for 3 years.
The STRB provides independent advice to the government on pay and conditions for teachers and school leaders in England and Wales.
Dr Patricia Rice, Chair of the STRB said:
I am delighted to welcome Kenneth Clark to the review body. I am confident that his broad economic expertise and labour market knowledge will assist the review body in its on-going and important work considering pay and conditions for teachers.
The appointment process was run in accordance with the code of practice issued by the Office of the Commissioner for Public Appointments (OCPA). The appointee declared no political activity and holds no other public appointments.
Biography
Kenneth Clark is based at the University of Manchester where he is Senior Lecturer in Economics and a member of the Economic and Social Research Council Centre on the Dynamics of Ethnicity. Between 2010 and 2013 he was Co-Head of Economics with responsibility for teaching and operations. He is also a research fellow at the Institute of Labour Studies, in Bonn. Kenneth has researched, taught and published in the area of labour economics for over 20 years.
