Falkland Islander Anita Browning receives BEM during investiture at Government House
Government House chef Anita Browning has been awarded the British Empire Medal by Governor Nigel Haywood.
Mrs Browning, who has worked at Government House for more than 27 years - encompassing eight different Governors - was awarded the medal in an investiture ceremony on February 14. She has catered for an estimated 1,500 events and 30,000 people, including a number of Royal visitors, during her time in the kitchen.
After presenting Mrs Browning with her medal, a certificate and a letter from Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal, the Governor said Mrs Browning had been “inspired and reliable” in her work adding, “we are lucky to have her in Government House.”
