Maria Isabel Amorín was awarded the 2024 Chevening Alumni of the Year for her remarkable contributions to projects with a sustainable development focus. She received the award in London with other prominent alumni.
Maria’s mission of creating a circular economy around seafood waste and wastewater treatment demonstrates her commitment to addressing environmental challenges. She studied a MSc in Material Chemistry at the University of Edinburgh (2020) under the Chevening Scholarships Programme.
Recognized by institutions like the University of Edinburgh and the US Department of State, Maria’s innovative technology achieved remarkable results, with her startup winning accolades in pitch competitions and accelerator programs for its sustainable solutions.
