Guatemalans awarded with Chevening Scholarship

Four Guatemalans will study in the UK a Masters Degree after been awarded with the British government scholarship programme, Chevening.

This was published under the 2022 to 2024 Sunak Conservative government

The selected candidates went through a rigorous selection process for a programme that awards outstanding scholars with leadership potential from around the world. All have been awarded with full scholarships that include travel costs, a monthly stipend, and academic fees.

The Guatemalan students going to the UK this year are:

  • Francisco Alejandro Pineda Suarez – LLM in comparative and International Dispute Resolution at Queen Mary University of London
  • Ana Isabella Gonzalez Palma – MSc in Medical Anthropology at University of Oxford
  • Jaquilin Anai Salazar – MSc in International Development at University of Bristol
  • Mario Andrea Yon Secaida – MSc in Public Policy and Administration at London School of Economics and Political Science

The Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and partner organisations. Chevening Scholars come from 118 countries worldwide.

After completing their period of study in the UK, scholars and fellows return home and join our global network of over 55,000 alumni.
