High Commissioner Drew signing the Convention

High Commissioner signed the UNCITRAL Convention on Transparency in Treaty-Based Investor-State Arbitration on Tuesday 17 May on behalf of the UK Government.

In his statement to the delegates present, he said:

“I am delighted that the UK Government is amongst the very first to sign this important Convention, which improves transparency in a critical area. The Convention will open up ISDS investment arbitration courts to much greater public scrutiny. The UK wants to give particular thanks to Mauritius for its international leadership in both driving this Convention forward and hosting its signing today.”
