His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant Certificates of Merit awards

Nominations are now open for His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant Certificate Of Merit awards.

The awards, hosted by RFCA for Wales, recognise outstanding service by reservists and cadet force adult volunteers, and are intended to supplement the New Year and Birthday Honours lists.

Nominations can be made and citations forwarded by Reserve unit Commanding Officers; Sea Cadet Corps District Officers; Army Cadet Force County Commandants; RAF Air Cadet Wing Commanders and Combined Cadet Force Contingent Commanders.

The following people can be nominated for awards:

  • adult volunteers serving with reserve forces
  • adult volunteers serving with cadets
  • civilian volunteers serving with cadets
  • civilian employees supporting reserve forces/cadets
  • regular servicemen/women serving with the cadet forces
  • RFCA members and staff

Lord-Lieutenants will give out these awards at 8 ceremonies in each of the preserved counties of Wales on the following dates:

2025

  • West Glamorgan - 16 January
  • Gwent - 30 January
  • Dyfed - 20 February
  • Clwyd - 6 March

2026

  • Powys - 15 January
  • Mid Glamorgan - 29 January
  • South Glamorgan - 19 February
  • Gwynedd - 5 March

The deadline for recommendations for the 2025 award ceremonies is Monday 7 October.

To nominate an individual for a Lord-Lieutenant Certificates of Merit, fill out and submit the Certificate of Merit Form.
