On Monday 11 May, Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, John Saville, presented his credentials to President Nicolas Maduro Moros in Miraflores Presidential Palace.

Following the ceremony, the Ambassador said:

I am delighted to have presented credentials formally and to have had the chance to discuss at the highest level the shared opportunity to work with the government and people of Venezuela on objectives and issues that matter to both countries.

In my conversation with the President, we focussed on finding solutions to overcome current difficulties and developing the latent potential of our nations. We have a long standing relationship in a number of areas and I look forward to building further on our links.
