HMPPS appoints new non-executive director
HM Prisons and Probation Service (HMPPS) appoints Jonathan Flory as a non-executive director.
HM Prisons and Probation Service (HMPPS) has appointed Jonathan Flory as a non-executive director.
Non-executive directors are senior figures from outside government, appointed to provide challenge to departments and executive agencies. They are appointed directly by the Secretary of State and are not civil servants. Their role is to:
- give advice to ministers and officials on the operational and delivery implications of policy proposals;
- provide independent support, guidance and challenge on the progress and implementation of the organisation’s strategic direction;
- advise on performance and monitor implementation of business plans.
Jonathan Flory is a Senior Adviser at Social Finance Limited where he has spent over a decade working to develop innovation partnerships delivering finance to tackle complex and enduring social issues. He previously spent over 25 years in the investment banking sector, principally at Dresdner Kleinwort.
