A further £3m investment is planned for 2017.
The Secretary of State’s visit comes after the company rebranded from International Greetings UK Ltd. to IG Design Group UK Ltd. on 31st October 2016, following the wider Group’s rebranding to IG Design Group PLC, as announced on 24th June 2016.
The company’s new name, IG Design Group UK Ltd, reflects the essential component of ‘design’ to the business and is the result of the company’s significant growth in recent years into the design-focused multi-product business that it is today.
Secretary of State for Wales, Alun Cairns, said:
IG Design Group UK is a wonderful success story of a company in the heart of the South Wales valleys employing over 400 staff.
It was great to visit their state-of-the-art design studios and showrooms and see first-hand why they are Europe’s biggest designer and producer of wrapping paper.
Their rebrand demonstrates the desire to continue to evolve as a company. The entrepreneurial flair and creativity of those experts at the helm has seen the company go from strength to strength and it is leadership such as this that creates local prosperity.
The UK Government stands ready to support all business to seek out new opportunities and look to companies such as IG Design Group UK to trade their way to global success.
