Improved road surface on the M181 at Scunthorpe

Drivers will soon benefit from smoother and safer journeys once work to repair the road surface on the M181 in Scunthorpe is complete.

Contractors for Highways England will be resurfacing a 2-mile stretch of the southbound carriageway and the eastbound link road onto the M180 starting on Tuesday 3 May.

The work will be carried out overnight and will require the closure of the southbound carriageway on the M181 between 8pm and 6am each night. The scheme is expected to be completed by Friday 20 May.

Highways England service delivery team leader Roger Wantling said:

The essential maintenance work is being carried out overnight between 8pm and 6am when traffic levels are at their lowest.

When complete, drivers will benefit from an improved road surface along the M181 on the southbound carriageway, providing smoother and safer journeys.

Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the A18.
