Improvements made at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust
Stockport NHS Foundation Trust has improved the way it is run and shown its board to be more effective, following regulatory action by Monitor.
The regulator has issued a formal statement of compliance in relation to the trust’s board effectiveness and governance, which recognises the progress made on behalf of patients.
However, the trust is still subject to regulatory action because some patients were waiting too long to be seen in A&E.
Although the trust has reduced waiting times, the regulator wants to make sure improvements are sustained.
Paul Chandler, Regional Director at Monitor, said:
We are pleased that patients are benefitting from recent improvements in the way the trust is run.
The trust has also taken steps to cut waiting times in its A&E department, but we want to make sure they keep this up.
The regulator will continue to scrutinise the trust’s performance to ensure that the remaining improvements are made and sustained.
