'Incredibly encouraging’ – CNC rises eight places in EDI rankings
The CNC's Head of EDI speaks of his pride at the organisation rising eight places in this year’s Inclusive Companies list.
The Civil Nuclear Constabulary’s (CNC) Head of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) has spoken of his pride at the organisation rising eight places in this year’s Inclusive Companies list.
Samuel Gower described the CNC moving into 51st place as ‘incredibly encouraging’ and has ambitions to reach the top 50 next year.
He said: “When our submission was made, the CNC’s EDI team were all quite new in our roles and our plans and strategies were still being developed, so to finish so close to the top 50 is something to be proud of.
“Our unwavering commitment to EDI and the progress we have made in a relatively short period of time was evident to the judges, and I am proud and thankful to all colleagues who worked hard to bring our submission together. This recognition proves we are heading in the right direction as an organisation when it comes to EDI.”
The Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers is a definitive list of UK-based organisations that promote inclusion across all protected characteristics, throughout each level of employment within their organisation.
The CNC’s EDI team will continue to design, launch, and embed strategies to improve the organisation’s inclusive offering to employees.
Samuel added: “There is much still to do, and we cannot allow complacency to distract us from our ambition of breaking into the Top 50 – something that will be a focus for us as a team in 2024.
“With the continued support of the central EDI team, our senior leaders, affinity networks, sponsors, allies and wider colleague network, I am confident it’s wholly achievable.”
The Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers represents the promotion of all strands of diversity, including age, disability, gender, LGBT and race and highlights organisations across various different sectors.
Dani Whiting, CNC’s Senior Talent Acquisition Manager, added: “The Talent Acquisition and wider HR team are extremely proud of the ongoing collaboration with the EDI team in relation to this initiative which supports the work currently being driven in relation to our CNC employer brand and overarching resourcing strategy.
“Being surrounded by some incredible organisations in the Inclusive Companies list is a badge of honour for the CNC. We are committed to improving our EDI offering to all employees and being the best organisation we can be for our people.”
