I am delighted to be presenting the awards to our new Chevening scholars. The Chevening programme exemplifies the strength of the bilateral relationship between the UK and Indonesia and our desire to support gifted Indonesian students to study in the UK’s top universities. It is one of our biggest scholarship programmes in the world, and its Indonesian alumni are contributing to their country in many different fields – business, government, civil society and many other areas.
Dyah Kusumaningsih, a Regional Tax Officer in West Java, is going to study Tax Law at, Queen Mary University in London. She said, “I chose to study in the UK, a country with world-class universities with a wider major of studies.”. She added that the in-depth teaching method encourages students to study harder for a better result. Dyah hopes to obtain new knowledge that will benefit both her career and the people of Indonesia.
