Joint statement by Minister Burt and Israeli Deputy Minister Hotovely
Joint statement between Minister Burt and Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Hotovely on ensuring application to the UK of EU-Israel agreements during Implementation Period.
FCO Minister for the Middle East Alistair Burt MP and Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister MK Tzipi Hotovely met on 30 May. The Ministers discussed, among other issues, preparations for the UK’s departure from the EU.
They agreed that we will work to ensure application to the UK of EU-Israel agreements during the Implementation Period, in line with the agreement reached between the UK and EU at March European Council.
The ministers also agreed to continue work to put in place arrangements to replicate relevant EU-Israel agreements beyond this period, and to grow two way UK-Israel trade and investment.
They both condemned the rocket fire attack launched from Gaza on Israeli towns and villages on 29 May.
