Joint Warrior military exercise to take place
A large bi-annual military exercise is set to take place across various UK locations next week, involving the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Airforce.
Exercise Joint Warrior will run from Saturday 11 April until Friday 24 April and will feature 55 war ships and submarines, 70 aircraft and around 13,000 personnel from 14 participating countries.
There will be significant naval and aerial activity off the West and East coast of Scotland, including amphibious landings on the West coast.
Aircraft will operate from locations including RAF Brize Norton, RAF Marham, RAF Leeming and RAF Lossiemouth.
Elsewhere there will be aerial and ground activity including airborne landings around Salisbury Plain in England and several other Defence Estate areas in Scotland, Northern England, South Wales and Central England.
The NATO exercise is designed to improve joint operations between the participating countries Armed Forces.
